Learning Patience, One Sip at a Time

Patience has never come easily to me. When I was younger, I wanted everything now—answers, progress, change. Waiting felt like wasting time. But as the years have gone by, I’ve realized that so much of life happens in the waiting.

Patience isn’t about sitting still with folded hands—it’s about trusting the process. It’s the pause between planting and harvest, the quiet space between setting a goal and seeing it bloom. It’s sipping your coffee slowly instead of gulping it down on the way out the door.

The older that I get, I find myself practicing patience more often. Patience with myself, with others, and with the pace of life. The truth is, everything doesn’t have to happen at once. Some things—like peace, joy, and the comfort of routine—are worth waiting for.

So here’s to patience, even on the days it feels thin. Because often, the waiting itself is where the real beauty lives.
