Hello, Wednesday

Hump dayThere’s something about Wednesday. It’s not the start of the week anymore, but it’s not quite the weekend either. It sits right in the middle, like a little rest stop on the highway of work and life.

Some Wednesdays feel like a climb—you’re still carrying Monday’s weight but can’t quite see Friday’s relief. Other Wednesdays feel like progress, a small victory that says, You’re halfway there.

As I inch closer to retirement, I’ve started looking at Wednesdays with fresh eyes. They remind me that life itself has seasons like this—beginnings, middles, and endings. The middle isn’t always glamorous, but it’s where most of the living happens. It’s where we find our rhythm, where we grow, where we keep going even when the finish line isn’t in sight yet.

So today, I’m raising my coffee mug to Wednesday. To the middle of the week, the middle of the journey, and the reminder that we don’t have to wait for Friday—or for retirement—to savor the small, steady moments along the way.
