Welcome to Morning Mugg – Let’s Talk About Real Life, Retirement, and Everything in Between

I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you stumbled in with a fresh cup of coffee or you’re just quietly scrolling while the world is still waking up, welcome to Morning Mugg. This little corner of the internet is where I’ll be sharing my personal journey toward retirement—and all the messy, honest, sometimes funny things that come with it.

I’m not a financial expert. I’m not a minimalist guru. I’m just someone in her 50s/60s (depends on the day I suppose!) who’s figuring this whole “next chapter of life” out, one sip at a time.

Why I Started Morning Mugg

I noticed that so many of the retirement blogs out there feel… a bit too polished. They’re filled with perfect financial strategies or pictures of people living in villas by the sea. That’s lovely—but it didn’t feel like my reality.

My reality looks more like:

  • Trying to downsize decades of “stuff” and wondering why I kept so many holiday decorations.
  • Figuring out how to save more (even though I wish I had started earlier).
  • Wondering what life will look like when my work calendar isn’t running the show.
  • And, most importantly, learning how to enjoy the little things—like a quiet morning with a good mug in hand.

I wanted a space where I could be real about all of this. Where we can talk about simplifying life, preparing for retirement (without overwhelm), and finding purpose after the 9-to-5.

What You Can Expect Here

I’ll be sharing:

  • My personal experiences as I plan for retirement.
  • Budget-friendly tips on downsizing, saving, and living simply.
  • Honest chats about the emotional side of getting older and redefining what “success” looks like.
  • Occasional ramblings about hobbies, morning routines, and life’s little joys.

No jargon. No “you should have done this 20 years ago” lectures. Just one person sharing what’s working (and not working) as I head toward a slower, more intentional life.

Let’s Share a Mug & a Moment

I truly believe that retirement isn’t just about finances—it’s about crafting a life that feels good to wake up to. It’s about letting go of what doesn’t matter, and holding tighter to what does.

So, if you’re someone who’s:

  • Working toward retirement, but still figuring it all out
  • Interested in simplifying your home, your schedule, and your mind
  • Looking for an honest, friendly space where we talk about real life—not just the highlight reels…

You’re in the right place. Grab your favorite mug and let’s figure this out together.

Welcome to Morning Mugg. I’m so glad you’re here.
