The Sweet Relief of the Weekend ☕🌿

autumn skyThere’s something about waking up on a Saturday morning that just feels different. The alarm clock stays quiet, the pace slows down, and the coffee tastes a little richer when you know you don’t have to rush out the door.

Weekends are like little gifts tucked into the middle of our lives. They’re time to catch up on chores, yes—but also time to catch up on ourselves. To linger at the breakfast table, to call a friend, to take that long walk you’ve been putting off.

As I get closer to retirement, I find myself savoring weekends more deeply. They’re a glimpse of what’s ahead—days shaped not by deadlines, but by choice. And that thought alone makes Saturday mornings feel a little brighter.

So here’s to the weekend: to rest, to laughter, to slowing down long enough to notice the simple joys around us. May your coffee be warm, your company be kind, and your heart feel just a little lighter.
